Blocks are much more effective than bricks in dealing with any type of vibration and natural calamities As bricks weigh less than blocks, it is convenient in working. While solid (nirate) blocks are large in size and heavy, 'hollow' (hollow) blocks are quite light and convenient to work with. Another advantage of 'hollow' blocks is that they are more insulating than both brick and solid blocks due to the hollow space inside. The pressure tolerance is also higher in block than in brick. Blocks can be very useful for urban housing, especially for housing along busy roads or in industrial areas. Although a brick is denser individually, brick masonry has a relatively high number of joints, which are relatively few in the case of blocks. As a result, houses made of blocks are more soundproof than houses made of bricks. So blocks are better for building houses in noisy areas.
